The Ticking Clock

With only one day to go until the June 30th deadline, there are fifty-three pieces ready to be posted online. Including 9 necklaces, 4 torque style necklaces, 22 sets of earrings, 12 bracelets, and 6 decorative art pieces.

Saturday entailed building the light box, bracelet stand, two necklace stands, and an earring hanger.

I have discovered that building the light box is the easy part. Learning all of the tricks involved with making the light box work properly, however, has proved to be somewhat more difficult. Achieving indirect light requires reflective panels to ensure the items aren’t washed out. Various camera settings yield significantly different brightness levels as well. And on top of it all, certain display angles are not very successful or flattering, so every piece needs special consideration.

It is a work in progress.

38+ degree heat during peak photo time makes the process somewhat more difficult as well. In such circumstances, I do not recommend standing over your backdrop or there may be sweat drops, on top of the tears.

But really, I jest. It is not so bad. It is an eye opener, but at the end of the day, I believe it has been a success.

Through all the hurdles, I am reminded that not everything comes easy the first time. These things take practice, but they will get easier.
